We are looking for an extra pair of hands to assist in the cheese-making team over the summer.



Ideally you would be available for an immediate start, with availability to work regularly until September (and potentially beyond if desired). We are looking for someone who can work a regular shift of approx 6 hours on a Monday, plus availability to do some additional shifts on some other days of the week and/ or occasional weekends, up to a total of 15 hours.


Job Description

Cheese-making assistant - 6-15 hours per week

No previous experience is required for this role, which could suit someone with existing experience in a catering or cleaning role, or indeed someone who has an interest in artisan food production and wishes to develop more experience.


Duties will include:

  • assisting with aspects of cheese-making process

  • assisting with cleaning and preparing equipment

  • packing and wrapping cheese


    Essential Qualities

  • attention to detail

  • hard-working  

  • high standards of cleanliness and hygiene;   

  • willingness to learn and undertake training;  

  • physical ability to stand throughout shifts and undertake physical work such as lifting and cleaning.


Candidates will need to be available to work a 6 hour shift on a Monday, plus up to 6-8 hours on other days of the week (timings and days can be negotiated to suit the candidate). Additional hours may be available if desired.

Pay will be at £13.97/ hour, with a 25% uplift for hours worked at the weekend.


Job location is on our farm between Llangadog and Llanddeusant, postcode SA19 9SL.
