Award-winning cheese, greener pastures and exciting plans for the future.
Every month we send a newsletter to our subscribers sharing what's happening here at Norton & Yarrow. It's our chance to step away from the day-to-day and reflect on life on the farm, the cheeses we're making and the changing seasons that shape both.
Here's a flavour of what we've been up to this month - sign up to our newsletter for more!

Sinodun Hill Wins Again
We're delighted that Sinodun Hill has once again been named Best Goat's Cheese at the Artisan Cheese Awards in Melton Mowbray. It's the second time the cheese has received the title, and Sinodun also won Best New Cheese when it was first launched. For a small farm dairy, it's wonderful recognition and a real testament to the care that goes into every batch.
A Green Summer in Wales
While many parts of the country have experienced prolonged dry weather, our Carmarthenshire pastures have continued to grow thanks to the rainfall we've received throughout the spring. The goats have been making the most of the fresh grass, and although growth has slowed, the fields remain green. This month's newsletter explores why rainfall, rotational grazing and healthy pasture are at the heart of everything we do.

Inside the Dairy
Summer always brings more milk, and this year we're producing more than ever before. That extra milk is allowing us to continue refining favourites like Brightwell Ash, while also developing exciting new cheeses that we hope to introduce later this year. We also share one of our favourite weekly traditions — Friday evening cheese tasting. It's a chance for Fraser and me to sit down together, taste the latest batches and talk honestly about how the cheeses are developing.
Looking Ahead
One of the biggest pieces of news this month is that we've secured funding to expand our dairy. The new facilities will give us more capacity, improve our cheesemaking process and create space to continue experimenting with new ideas while remaining true to our small-scale, pasture-based approach. It's an exciting step forward for the dairy and one we're very much looking forward to sharing with you as the project develops.
